The National Planning Level stays at 295,000 new commencements for 2027 — unchanged from 2026. No currently active provider will be allocated fewer places next year than it received this year.
Visa Fees Are Up 25%
Effective 1 July 2026: the student visa application fee rises from AUD 2,000 to AUD 2,500, and the Temporary Graduate visa fee rises from AUD 4,600 to AUD 5,750.
Who Falls Outside the Cap
TAFE (vocational) enrolments are exempt from the 2027 National Planning Level, alongside Australian Government scholarship holders and students from Pacific nations and Timor-Leste.
